DWC is an innovative communications program for high school students that provides over 35 professional hands-on workshops. From newswriting to public relations to filmmaking, our program offers students not only an opportunity to explore their interests but also to experience Washington, D.C. first hand. This is a great way to visit the nation's capital and practice English language skills. We are offering 2 two-week sessions and one four-week film intensive beginning June 27th.
The robotics, technology and invention summer program is designed for students entering and in high school ages 14–18.
The program will cover robot construction, visual programming, language programming, C# programming, web programming in service-oriented computing, phone app programming and a robotics challenge. Our summer workshops during June and July of 2019 are held at UC Berkeley and UC San Diego in California, USA. These include three workshops on Molecular Biology of Cancer and Molecular Neuroscience, two workshops on Molecular Immunology, one Molecular Biology of Aging workshop and one Bioinformatics of Cancer workshop. The workshops are taught by PhD-level scientists who are actively engaged in the field of medical research, and they expose students to cutting-edge molecular biology through engaging lectures and real-world molecular biology lab exercises. Workshop participants experience college life in a safe environment by living in the undergraduate dorms and eating in undergraduate dining facilities, and they make friends with fellow students from around the nation and around the world. Our Medical and Translational Bioinformatics workshop is held during winter break starting 12/26 in Berkeley, CA. We also have a lab-intensive workshop on Biomedical Research at our lab in San Jose/Alameda during late July-early August.
